Change of the SAML certificate at HM’s identity provider on 21 October 2026
Notification
On Wednesday, 21 October 2026, starting at 11:00, we will replace the security certificate for Munich University of Applied Sciences’ central Single Sign-On (sso.hm.edu). The current certificate is expiring as scheduled. The certificate allows the login service to confirm to connected applications that a login is genuine.
Who is affected? All services where login via the university’s central Single Sign-On (sso.hm.edu) uses SAML.
For operators of connected services: To ensure logins continue to work after the changeover, your service must recognize the new certificate. If your service retrieves the Identity Provider’s metadata automatically (from https://sso.hm.edu/idp/shibboleth or via DFN-AAI), this will happen automatically. If the certificate is statically configured in your service, please add the new one alongside the existing one before the changeover. If your service allows only one certificate, replace it at the time of the switchover. You can find the new certificate in the current metadata at https://sso.hm.edu/idp/shibboleth.
